Traffic Accident in Southeast Tunisia Leaves Six Dead
(MENAFN) A tragic traffic accident in Tunisia’s Gabes province on Tuesday left six people dead and four others critically injured, according to a local news outlet.
The collision took place in the early morning hours on national road No. 16, where a shared taxi traveling from Kebili to Gabes collided with a truck that was transporting vehicles, the news outlet reported. The violent crash caused significant casualties and disrupted traffic in the region.
This incident adds to a growing concern over road safety in Tunisia. Earlier this month, the Tunisian National Road Safety Observatory revealed that the country has already recorded 449 fatalities from road accidents since the beginning of the year, highlighting a persistent and alarming trend in traffic-related deaths.
Authorities have been urged to increase road safety measures and enforcement to prevent further loss of life on Tunisia’s roads, as families and communities mourn the victims of this latest disaster.
