Basal added that structures with five floors or more were particularly targeted, and the explosives used caused surrounding buildings to collapse as well. Some homes were demolished while residents remained inside, resulting in casualties. The demolitions were conducted without prior warning, and intense bombardment prevented civil defense teams from reaching the injured.
