Russia Reports Seizure of Village in Ukraine
According to a statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian military units reportedly secured the village of Filiia, which lies approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) to the south of Novopavlivka — a critical area along the frontlines of the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The settlement of Filiia is positioned roughly 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) away from the administrative boundary that separates Dnipropetrovsk from Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.
In contrast, Ukraine’s General Staff stated earlier that Russian troops had launched 33 offensive actions within the last 24 hours near eight communities on the Novopavlivka front, one of which was Filiia.
Despite these claims, Ukrainian officials have yet to issue a response to Russia's latest assertion, and independent confirmation remains challenging due to the persistent hostilities in the region.
