China Successfully Launches Satellites into Orbit
(MENAFN) China on Tuesday sent a new remote sensing satellite into space from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site, located in the southern island province of Hainan, according to a news agency.
The Yaogan-45 satellite was lifted into orbit at 10 a.m. (0200GMT) aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket, successfully reaching its designated path.
This satellite is intended to serve several functions, including scientific exploration, land resource surveying, agricultural yield forecasting, as well as disaster monitoring and emergency response.
The event represented the 594th mission of the Long March rocket program.
In addition, earlier the same day, China deployed another set of constellation satellites in a single operation using a Smart Dragon-3 rocket launched from the eastern province of Shandong.
The rocket, which carried 11 satellites, lifted off at 3:48 a.m. (1948GMT Monday) from waters near the coastal city of Rizhao, successfully placing the Geely-05 constellation satellites into their scheduled orbit.
The offshore launch mission was executed by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
