FM of Syria calls on SDF to enforce March 10 deal immediately
During a joint press conference in Ankara with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Shaibani called on the SDF to “commit to the March 10 agreement and make every effort to implement it.”
He criticized the group’s lack of action, saying its hesitation is “hindering the interests of our people and obstructing counterterrorism efforts,” and that the deal “remains only ink on paper” due to the SDF’s unwillingness to follow through on its promises.
Reports describe the SDF as being led by the YPG, which is regarded as the Syrian branch of the PKK.
The March 10 agreement, announced by the Syrian presidency, outlined a framework for integrating the SDF into state institutions, reaffirming Syria’s territorial unity and rejecting any separatist ambitions. However, according to officials, the SDF has violated the terms of the accord on multiple occasions.
