Suicide Bombing Strikes Islamabad Court Complex
The detonation occurred in the parking zone of the Judicial Complex. “The suicide bomber targeted a police vehicle as he couldn't enter the complex,” Naqvi informed journalists at the site of the explosion.
He added that authorities are making efforts to determine the attacker’s identity.
Security officials told a news agency that the remains of the 12 deceased—most of them civilians—were transported to a nearby hospital, while the wounded were moved for urgent medical care.
Law enforcement and emergency responders sealed off the vicinity and initiated an inquiry into the incident.
President Asif Zardari strongly denounced the bombing, asserting that "foreign-sponsored" militants active within Pakistan must be eradicated.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the assault, accusing India of "spreading terrorism in the region through its proxies."
He further declared, "The time has come for the world to condemn such nefarious conspiracies of India," claiming the assaults were "carried out from Afghan soil with Indian backing."
As of now, there has been no prompt response from New Delhi or Kabul regarding Sharif’s remarks.
