US Hits Iran’s Command Centers, Missile Sites, Naval Assets— CENTCOM

(MENAFN) The United States Central Command announced Monday that American forces have carried out extensive strikes against Iran’s military leadership hubs, missile infrastructure and naval capabilities during the first two days of what it calls “Operation Epic Fury.”

In a statement released on the social media platform X, owned by X, the command outlined the objectives of the campaign.

"CENTCOM forces are striking targets to dismantle the Iranian regime's security apparatus, prioritizing locations that pose an imminent threat," the command said on the US social media company X’s platform.

According to the statement, the strikes focused on high-value installations, including command-and-control facilities, the main headquarters and aerospace division headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, integrated air defense networks, ballistic missile launch sites, naval vessels and submarines, anti-ship missile batteries, and military communications systems.

To execute the operation, the US has mobilized a wide array of military assets. These include B-2 stealth bombers and B-1 bombers, multiple generations of fighter aircraft such as F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22 and F-35 jets, A-10 attack aircraft, EA-18G electronic warfare planes, MQ-9 Reaper drones, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, guided-missile destroyers, as well as Patriot and THAAD missile defense systems.

The broader joint US-Israeli offensive has, according to official claims, produced major results.

CENTCOM stated that all 11 Iranian vessels operating in the Gulf of Oman were destroyed. US President Donald Trump further asserted that 49 senior Iranian figures were killed, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. American B-2 bombers also reportedly targeted fortified ballistic missile installations overnight Sunday.

Despite these claims, the operation has come at a cost. At least six American service members have died, and 18 others have sustained serious injuries since the campaign began.

In response, Iran has launched retaliatory drone and missile attacks aimed at Gulf states and US military positions in the region.
