Syrian Security Forces Disrupt Sabotage Cell in Homs
The ministry explained that the planned operation, which aimed at undermining security and stability in Homs, was foiled through coordinated efforts between internal security forces and the General Intelligence Service.
“The operation came as a result of precise intelligence efforts,” the ministry stated, adding that specialized units conducted a raid on the location where the suspects were believed to be hiding.
During the raid, authorities succeeded in “neutralizing two members” of the group and gained full control over the site, according to the ministry’s account.
Security personnel also recovered a significant stockpile of weapons, which included anti-tank missile launchers, sniper rifles, automatic firearms, RPG launchers, ammunition, and explosive devices, the statement said.
The ministry further noted that this action forms part of continuing operations aimed at dismantling sleeper networks and cutting off resources linked to “terrorism”, emphasizing that security agencies remain fully prepared to respond to any threats against public safety and national security.
